The CNaPS is a public establishment with industrial and commercial nature jointly supervised by of the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Laws, and the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Budget.

Its mission is to contribute to the achievement of State Policy about social protection of the private sector workers. The CNaPS is specifically responsible for:

• serving workers, partners and their families, the following benefits:
  • Family,
  • Work accidents and occupational diseases,
  • Retirement allowances.
• enforcing the regulation of social welfare;
• undertaking activities as part of health and social action for:
  • prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases,
  • promotion of hygiene and health at work,
  • popularization of the laws related to the Social Welfare,
  • social actions to the beneficiaries and their families.
